We remove barriers to education
Tent Schools International removes barriers to education for displaced children and adolescents. Children displaced by war, violence and natural disaster can miss years of education. We work to close the gap and get them back in school. We do this out of the belief that all children the right to develop their greatest potential no matter where they live, no matter if their school meets in a tent.
All proceeds from our online store go directly to our schools. We currently educate displaced children from Iraq and Syria. All of the products in our store were made by Iraqi Christians who were forced out of Northern Iraq by ISIS fighters. They do not know when or if they will ever get to go back home. In their host country, Jordan, they face many barriers to steady employment. To help, our partner organization in Jordan created a center where the Iraqis can create handmade goods with 100-percent Jordanian sourced materials. To learn more, visit tentschoolsint.org.
All purchases of goods from the Tent Schools Giving Store support the crafters. In addition, our profits support schools for displaced Iraqi children in Jordan and Syrian refugees living there and in Lebanon.
